課程概述

在臺灣考古遺址的鐵器時期（金屬器時期）至歷史時期地層中，經常出土中國產、日本產、東南亞產以及歐洲產的陶瓷。在東亞交流圈中，陶瓷是在貿易交流中流動最為頻繁的器物之一。陶瓷易於塑型，又兼具日常用品與奢侈品的功能，對於社會文化的變動十分敏感。此外，貿易交流中移動的物資，在搬入的社會中代表著外來物，在當地文化中的作用力與反作用力，反映了文化本身的特性，也是值得注目之處。因此，貿易陶瓷在歷史時期的考古學中具有相當的重要性。為藉由陶瓷發展議題，首先必須掌握陶瓷的分析方法。分析方法需考量陶瓷特性等基礎知識。因此本課程將說明陶瓷製作技術的原理與產出特徵，根據研究例實作各類分析方式，並討論作者分析方法設計中展現的理論背景。同學需以實際標本參與課程實作與討論。 

課程目標
 一、認識貿易陶瓷的製作原理，理解各種陶瓷不同特質形成的原因。
二、理解如何透過各種分析方法，自出土陶瓷中獲得情報。
三、透過貿易陶瓷的研究案例，理解理論如何實際應用在出土遺物的分析中。
四、培養學生洞察研究議題，應用理論設計研究方法的能力。
 
課程要求
 以博士班學生為授課對象，需準備標本實作分析方法。
每週上課前必須閱讀指定書目，並於每週日下午5點前繳交摘要。
期末報告：於期中開始構思議題，以期刊格式寫作論文。
